If you are obsessed with bags like I do, you will look at bags in a whole different way.  You will start noticing even the smallest details.  Right now I’m in love with this Rebecca Minkoff Delight Satchel.  The shape is nothing revolutionary, but I love the details: From the two buckled straps that lay vertically around the bag, the way the pocket is stitched to the small tiny round hardware that she put near the tip of the buckled straps. Everything just fall beautifully into place.

Besides the details, I also pay attention to the functionality. This roomy bag (15.5″w x 12.5″h x 6.5″d) has 3 exterior zippered pockets and a detachable shoulder strap, which is good enough for me. I can’t find any picture of the inside of the bag but I’m pretty sure it should have a zippered pocket inside too (just like the Morning After Bag).  I’m hoping that she uses metal interior zippers instead of plastic ones, because plastic zippers makes the bag look cheap (yes, even if it’s only on the inside).  This plastic zipper thing might be one of my weird bag pet peeves.  I have passed on buying bags that I really like just because they have plastic zippers on the inside.

You can pre-order this bag from lunaboston for $495.  Currently, they only have the color black.  I would wait around for the other colors, as I’m sure they will be pretty.  I love the blue one in the picture.

Cheapest-RMCheapest-Gustto

Today I checked out the Ideeli Red Sale.  The prices were amazingly low.  I have never seen a new Rebecca Minkoff or Gustto bag sold for $99.  With this kind of price, the merchandise are certainly gone in an instant.

A lot of people look at me all weird when I told them that I like to shop online.  The low prices and the convenience are the main reason for my online shopping habit.

If you are not an Ideeli member yet, please click here for the invitation.

I was so bummed that I could not make it to the Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale in San Francisco on May 16th.  However, a dear friend of mine, who is also crazy about bags, went and took some pictures for me.  I did not think that she would have had a chance to take pictures because this kind of sale is usually very hectic.  I was so happy when she emailed me the pictures she took.  I felt like I did not totally miss out on the sale.

Although the prices were not incredibly cheap, a lot of the shoppers were pretty feisty and snagged a lot of the bags.  After the jump you can see that shoppers were holding many bags at the same time.  Within the first five minutes of the sale most of the bags were snagged, just so that they could decide which one to get.  In my opinion, that kind of shopping is very exciting as it gets your adrenaline pumping.  In the end, when you finally score something nice and cheap, you will experience victory.  Where is the fun of shopping retail, where everything is priced at the full price, comes in a complete selection, and no one is trying to snatch your finds.  Perhaps, I’m just not mature enough to appreciate the “uneventfulness” of retail shopping. rebecca-minkoff-mam-peacockI love Rebecca Minkoff’s Morning After Mini bag, regardless where it is made.  The style is very classic, the leather is beautiful and it comes in so many different colors.  It’s like the cheaper version of Balenciaga bags.

I always thought that the more options I have the better.  However, I’m finding it hard to choose with so many colors available.  It doesn’t help that most of the colors are beautiful.  It just makes it even harder for me to choose.

After thinking about it for some time, I narrowed down my choice to  Peacock (shown) and Pool (antother beautiful shade of blue). I already have one neutral color, so a fun color of Morning After Mini would be a nice addition to my collection.

You can buy this from Revolve Clothing for $550

ideeliI can’t believe that I almost miss a sale.  I really should start waking up early and check my emails.  Today, after I came back from taking my daughter to her dance class, I checked my email and found an email from Joi Wheatley of Ideeli.  She told me about Rebecca Minkoff sale that is going on RIGHT NOW, and the prices are cheaper than ever! Believe me, I know it when I see a good deal. Hurry!

Here is a preview of Rebecca Minkoff Summer 09 Collection. I love the little pouches with labels on it (gas money, benjamins, mine, etc).  They’re so cute and fun looking.  I am also surprised to see the Mini Mini Morning After. Before I see the video I thought the Mini Mini Morning After would be way too small. However, It turned out to be so adorable, and I think it will definitely looks good on petites.

I love Rebecca Minkoff handbags, especially the Morning After Mini. I’ve been lusting over it for a while and finally I got it. I found a good deal on eBay combined with the Microsoft Live Cashback. When the bag arrived I could not wait to open it. I was inspecting it inside and outside. It was all perfect until I found a small “made in China” tag attached to the lining. I am ok with products that are made in China, it’s just I was not expecting my Morning After Mini is made in China. I always thought that Rebecca Minkoff bags are made in NYC.

I did some research and it turns out that the newer Rebecca Minkoff bags are made in China, the older version are still made in NYC. I went to Rebecca Minkoff official website and I did not see any “made in China” in the product description anywhere. I was kind of bummed about that, but I still like the bag very much. I would feel better if it is stated on the website that the bags are made in China.
